Plan

Four questions to answer first. Plan happens in your head or on paper. The chat window stays closed.

  1. Purpose

What real-world outcome do I want? Not the AI task, the goal behind it.

  2. Limits

What confidentiality, safety, policy, or risk boundaries apply?

  3. Audience

Who receives the result, and what do they need to trust or act on it?

  4. Needs

What raw inputs exist? Source documents, data, existing drafts.

The test for a good Purpose

Read it out loud. If it sounds like a task instead of an outcome, rewrite it.

Check your Limits first

Anything confidential? Remove names and numbers, or practise on sample material.
